For the second and final component of your capstone, you will write an essay in which you discuss the process and outcomes of your capstone project. You should envision this component as a personal reflection on the digital photography capstone portfolio. Specifically, you should discuss your experiences and processes used in compiling your portfolio and how you will use your portfolio in the future. Some issues you should address in this reflection include but are not limited to the following:
Why did you include the artifacts you did, and how do they contribute to a cohesive portfolio that contributes to a single idea or message?
How did the process of critiquing other photographic worksfrom historical and contemporary photographers and from your peershelp you improve and understand your own work?
Reflect on your process of capturing and editing your work, including what equipment you used, what you learned, and so on. How does your process speak to your personal style or aesthetic?
How will you use your portfolio moving forward, and how do you plan to market and/or brand yourself?
How do you think your portfolio will help you succeed professionally, and what have you learned regarding your personal code of ethics?
How does your work fit into the history of photography? How does it fit in contemporary photography? What from historical or contemporary photography inspires you or influences your work? Where will your work go moving forward?
