EXTRA CREDIT: What is something distinctive about your own skeleton? (See requirements below)

How might people identify you in the future? Perhaps you have been transported into a soap opera world and develop amnesia! Your fingerprints have been burned off! But the local forensic anthropologist has been brought on to the case. What might they be able to learn from x-rays of your skeleton?

Or perhaps in 2000 years someone discovers your bones and wants to learn about your life! What might they be able to figure out from your bones?

Do you have distinctive dental work? Do you have a non-pathological non-metric trait? Did you ride horses as a child and develop bowed femurs? Did you break your arm skateboarding and need a metal pin?

Note: This is meant to be fun! Don’t stress about learning everything there is to know. Additionally, if you can’t find something distinctive about yourself or don’t feel comfortable sharing, no worries! You can also learn and tell us about something that might help identify someone else, such as a historical figure or fictional character! You can add pictures or x-rays, if you feel so inclined. They are not required, but are always fun!

Requirements:

1. Write in paragraph form. No bullet-points. 200 word minimum.
2. If you are writing about a historical figure or fictional character, please include their name.
3. Be specific! Name and side bones, if relevant. Use forensic or medical terms (Ex. “accessory navicular”, instead of “extra foot bone”).
4. Include information on at least one (1) distinctive skeletal variation.
5. Include information on at least one (1) metric trait that is suggestive of age or sex (Ex. estimate pubic sympheseal surface or feel your gonial angles and rate them).
