Discussion Board allows you to examine your own identity at a deeper level while learning about the identities of your peers. Reflect on your “ADDRESSING-GSA Self-Assessment,” and explore how increased self-awareness impacts your worldview. In the Discussion Board, you will consider (a) your worldview and experiences and (b) reflect on how your worldview influences the way you view others.

Share a summary of your cultural self-assessment based on your “ADDRESSING-GSA Self-Assessment” assignment, from last week, You are encouraged to share your ADDRESSING-GSA pie.) Remember to consider your growth and learning zone by stepping outside of your comfort zone and also not stepping into an unsafe space. It is important to maintain boundaries while learning to explore your own cultural identity. Respond to the following questions:

  • Share between three to five aspects of your cultural identity (based on your “ADDRESSING-GSA Self-Assessment” results).
  • Discuss which parts of your identity are part of dominant/more privileged culture in the society in which you live versus non-dominant/more marginalized culture in the society in which you live.
  • Reflect on how these aspects of your identity provide you with advantages or disadvantages in society.
