IS are increasingly being used in all organizations. Nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), in particular, use Information and communications technologies (ICTs) to coordinate their advocacy programs, relate the programs to broader governmental goals, and establish accountability. However, at times, NGOs have not been particularly successful in using ICTs because of social forces that influence the type of organization.
