Question Description
Paper Requirements
The main body of this paper should be 3-4 (double-spaced) pages; a 1-page reference list should follow.
A description of the paper requirements is provided below; be sure to also consult the Grading Rubric.
On the first day of CFS 134, you expressed what you thought the following terms meant to you:
- Culture
- Diversity
- Identity
- Development
(Culture to me is something you were raised with. Your morals or beliefs system. The way you celebrate holidays, what you eat, how you dress, etc.
Diversity to me means that we are all different but we take time to understand and recognize those differences between one another
Identity is who I am, how I am, who I choose to be.
Development to me is that we all are growing and learning everyday and it is a process)
- in this course reflection paper, you will re-examine these four concepts (making sure to refer to a minimum of four CFS 134 readings and one CFS 134 Group Presentation), and reflect on how your responses to these four items have evolved since the first time you answered them:
- How has your perspective on culturecaptured by your responses to those four concepts at the beginning of the semesterchanged during the intervening months?
- Or how has your perspective remained constant, but perhaps with new language and/or research to support your initial perspectives?
This reflection on your earlier responses may be integrated into, precede, or follow, your more recent responses. You should, however, be sure to clearly label each of the four concepts that are addressed for the sake of clarity.
CRP References
You must also include an APA style reference list and in-text citations.
You are welcome to include additional sources if you would like when writing this paper, but the bulk of your citations should refer to materials that we discussed in this course.
Please also ensure that direct quotations (e.g., from articles we read) are kept to a minimum. In general, you should paraphrase rather than copypaste what others have said, as this tends to reflect deeper processing and understanding than does reliance upon direct quotations.
(I have provided some readings, pick any 4)
