Google has a core belief that the challenges of work should be
fun. Therefore, if you give employees the necessary tools to properly
perform their jobs, they will be key contributors to the organizations overall
success. (Chapter 1, Section 2)
When you look at the timeline of the history of management theory
and the accompanying historical events that triggered changes in the practice
of management (Chapter 3, Section 1), do you think the Google philosophy of
management signals a shift in how work is managed? Could this philosophy
work in your organization? Would you feel comfortable managing in this
type of environment?
