FULL ESSAY QUESTION: Taking into account the complex arguments and ideologies about race in Spanish colonial America into consideration, develop an argument about whether Iberians had developed a concept of race similar to today’s day in age. How did Spaniards and colonial authorities think about race? Did they at any point have an idea of race? In what ways was their concept of race like our own? What factors played in their idea of race? In what ways was it unique? Did Spaniards discriminate and exclude on the basis of race?
