Question Description
Please read Allison D. Carr’s “Failure is not an Option,” and the reading right after it, “There is One Way of Correct Writing and Speaking” by Anjali Pattanayak.
To create an entry to work with these two texts, stick to the standard syllabus reading journal instructions: summarize each text in a paragraph, then write another for each in which you consider how the article helps you as a student writer and thinking person. Aim to integrate and cite a line from each in the second paragraph, to give you an idea to work with and respond to.
In-text citations use the last name and page number, like this “quote” (Wardle 28). Notice the punctuation only goes after the citation, not before or not both. If you use the name of the writer in the sentence itself setting up the quote, no last name needed. That would look like this: Wardle suggests that “quote” (28).
