Question Description

Students have a choice of producing an original work of Avant Garde Art in any medium: painting, collage, drawing, video, performance. Students will present and explain their artwork in class. Post a photo here of your visual art piece, or your video. If you are doing a performance piece, post a detailed description of your performance and then have someone record your piece during class and post it after class. Additionally, write a brief (400 word) artist statement about your work.

For an original artwork – the grade will not be on how accomplished the piece, but, rather, is it a piece of work that could be considered Avant Garde art. That is, do you show some original thought (not a copy of someone else’s work) in your piece. Can you explain what statement you were making with your art.
