For your thematic unit project, you will develop large group activity plans for young preschool children ages 3-5 . This is what you are teaching when all of the children are together with you, typically on a carpet rug.
This is also a time to include direct teaching of concepts, classroom expectations, music and movement, and literacy activities.
You must include a story reading/telling on this plan.

Steps/Purpose: As a preschool teacher dealing with children of ages three and five, I understand the unique position that the children must tell about themselves every day. The purpose of the large group time planning is to draw the necessary plan for playing, storytelling as well as a host of other activities. the circle time will encourage the children to engage more in the activities together with exposing them to the teacher and peers as they respond to the questions.
· Step #1
· First, I will sing the Where is Thumbkin verse and repeat it severally using a high tone. I will replace the thumbkin with the names of the children.
· I chose this activity it will draw the children’s attention. This will also offer an opportunity to interact directly with the children thus making them feel a good relationship in the group.
· Step #2
o Next, I will form a discussion. I will ask the children what did they do this weekend I chose this activity ,so the children will learn how to answer questions ,and engage in conversation.
· Step #3
o Next, I will engage the children by playing music, and allowing them to do a dance.
o I chose this activity to engages the brain, learn about sounds, words and patterns through music. I also chose this activity to cultivate communication skills and to allow the children to express themselves.

o Next, I will engage the children by allowing them to do Emotions Movement Rhyme
o I chose this activity to help kids learn and understand feelings. I also chose this activity to cultivate communication skills and to allow the children to express themselves.
· Transition Activity
o Next, I will gather the children in circle time plan for storytelling. I will read the book in apeoples hous by dr seuss.
o I chose this transaction activity because it will help the children engage each other in groups. They will learn about feelings .This will help them understand the procedures and processes of conducting some of the most important things in their life told through stories
