Introduction
A testable hypothesis is not a simple statement. It is an intricate statement that needs to offer a clear introduction to a scientific experiment, its intentions, and the possible outcomes. This activity will develop your skill in writing a clear GIS-testable hypothesis. [CILO 2.2]
Task
You will develop your own hypothesis statement given a vague security-related scenario. (Three hours)
Process
Step 1
1. Examine Internet site: “CNN time lapse map of coronavirus spread” (Scroll down to see time lapse map). * Why is the distribution uneven? *
2. Compare CNN time lapse map of coronavirus spread with attached document that shows Daily Airline Flights Before and After Spread of Virus” (BeforeAfterVirus.pdf) & a map of access to health care by country.
Step 2
1. Formulate a research hypothesis to explain the spread of the virus & predict what regions may continue to experience problems with it. For example:
i. Define individual factors involved
ii. Try to write the hypothesis as a statement
2. Refer to Task 2.1.1: Selecting factors & Powerpoint presentation to create your hypothesis.
3. Identify factors in the problem & create a hypothesis statement
4. Type in your submission based on the rubric attached above.
