Question Description
In this essay, choose three (3) of the following topics to analyze:
- Compare and contrast the ancient Greek view of humanity to that of the Renaissance view of humanity, including one specific example of each.
- Compare and contrast the northern and southern Renaissance – again, an example of each must be analyzed and included in the comparison.
- Choose a Baroque artist and three of their works. Discuss the artist’s style as seen in all three works. How do these characteristics exemplify Baroque style?
- Choose a Renaissance artist and three of their works. Discuss the artist’s style as seen in all three works. How do these characteristics exemplify Renaissance style?
- Compare and contrast the Renaissance to the Baroque style, providing an example of each.
You may use a work of art from your essay/presentation but you cannot use the entire thesis. You must provide detailed definitions of the styles and detailed analysis of the examples. Please do not use outside sources other than the text for this exam.
Whenever featuring an example, clearly identify the work’s title, medium, date, and origin, and analyze it using course vocabulary terms(in the files). Do not use the same example more than once.
